International Women's Day - Barbie vs Reality

Today is International Women's Day. As a woman, I thought I would take this opportunity to address the issue of Barbie vs the Real Woman. I played with Barbie. I did not at any time consider I would grow up to look like Barbie or even want to look like her. Yes, she had great clothes. But, she was plastic and only had the personality I gave her at the time. I will say, I did want that wedding dress. Children are not dumb as you may think. My sister had a wonderful Mrs. Beasley doll. At no time did any of us think she would grow up to look like that. We play with dolls. We know we aren't dolls. What we really are are princesses!
