Should I Get that New Cell Phone?
Doesn't it seem like that as soon as you buy a new cell phone a newer version comes out? Well, you are right! The LG3, the iPhone 6, the HTC Desire, a new Nokia Lumia and the Galaxy S 5 are out. The only truly new phone out there is the Amazon Fire (and, only with AT&T). So, do you wait? If so, you will NEVER get a newer cell phone. By the time you debate the pros and cons, the next version is available. What you can do is buy the current (or earlier) version - the iPhone 5S, the Galaxy S 4, etc. We have these phones, and many others, at our store locations as well as online. Because, yes, there are individuals out there that "need" the new version. Or, their carrier is letting them trade up for another couple of years on their contract. Come check out our stock. You will be pleasantly surprised.

Don't Sleep with Your Cell Phone Under the Pillow
In Texas, a young girl fell asleep after using her cell phone. The cell phone got pushed under her pillow. She woke up to the smell of "burning." The battery had overheated from the lack of air circulation and started a fire. Check out the news site at Fox 8.

Pandora vs Amazon Prime Music
I have been a Pandora person since I first
discovered the site. So much so that I paid the annual fee so I could
have music longer and without commercials. Now that it has gone to a
monthly fee, I didn't think twice about continuing. My tastes in music
run from the Rolling Stones to Il Divo. From Enya to Johnny Cash. What
can I say - I like my music well-rounded.
The last couple of days, I have used my Amazon Prime Music playlists
instead. As a Prime member, I figured why not save the money and go for
the "free." Amazon has a number of playlists. Very diversified. Just
not enough Il Divo or Lucero for my tastes. And, there is no thumbs
down so I never hear it again. If I wanted to create my own playlist, I
would have to go through everything and add - do you know how much time
that would take? With Pandora I am surprised by whatever gets thrown
at me. And, after all this time, they still pull in something new for
me to "like." I'm going to keep paying my $3.99/month, but I will keep
an eye on the Amazon playlists and, maybe, start creating my mix. Free
is still a good choice. Note: I did like the playlist on the 80's One
Hit Wonders. That was fun!
Your Child Will Love Reading
Looking for an amazing way for your children to absolutely love reading? Check out these interactive children's books for the iPad and iPhone. They have the old tried but true stories like "Alice in Wonderland." But, in this version, if you tilt just right, she gets bigger or shrinks down to the size of a thimble. New stories, too. For example, "On the Night You Were Born." We want our children to read, and to want to read; but, as we all know, technology is passing books behind. So, now, when you start "Once upon a time..." your child can help you read the story. I love it!

Going to the Forecastle Festival this weekend? You might want to make sure you all have phones so you can find each other. I hear the weather is going to be "scrumptious." The groups playing are some of the best. So, stop by, pick up a phone(s) and get it/them activated before hitting the festival. And, have a great time!
Beautiful Day in July
Today would have been an awesome day to go to the Louisville Zoo, The weather is perfect. The kids are out of school. And, with this kind of weather, the animals won't be just laying around.
Why a Screen Protector?
Want
to let you know a fascinating fact I deduced today. When cleaning the
touchscreen of a smartphone, the LG and the Samsung are the easiest.
They just wipe off clean with no scratching. With an Apple, it just
"looks" at the cloth and gets minor scratches. You can't put any
pressure, just barely wipe in one direction and carefully. So, if you
have an Apple, your best bet is to get a screen protector. It will keep
your phone scratch and smudge free. Screen protectors are a necessity.
If you are touching the screen, you are smudging it. Until I gave in
and got a protector, I was constantly cleaning the screens on my
smartphone and my Kindle.
